Costs and time considerations in choosing a treatment.

In addition to the advantages and disadvantages referred to previously cost and loss of time from work or other activities must be considered. The vacuum constriction device has a clear advantage regarding cost, they are far less expensive than implant prosthesis and less expensive over time than the drugs necessary for either injection therapy or  the "Muse " system. Time required to learn to use the vacuum device usually involves one session in reviewing a video tape as well as an additional follow up with the physician. Injection therapy and the "Muse " system will require several visits to the doctors office in the first two months of administration, to learn the techniques , adjust  the dosage  and check for complications.
